Closely associated with composer Benjamin Britten, Aldeburgh offers excellent galleries, boutiques, and acclaimed restaurants, including The Suffolk. Southwold, known for its beach huts, is a popular seaside town with a Victorian lighthouse and a pier featuring eccentric arcade games. Neighbouring Walberswick is a picturesque coastal village with beautiful beaches and dunes.

Sporting facilities include golf clubs in Woodbridge, Halesworth, and Aldeburgh; sailing along the coast; and thriving tennis and rugby clubs in Woodbridge.

Schools in the area are excellent in both state and independent sectors, including Thomas Mills High School, Debenham High School, Framlingham College, Woodbridge School, and Ipswich School.
