Belmesthorpe is a Rutland hamlet with a public house, The Bluebell Inn, just three miles north of the Georgian market town of Stamford and half a mile from Ryhall village, with its two public houses, village shop, library and primary school.

Stamford is a fabulous market town, with great shops and restaurants and renowned schooling, with excellent road and rail links to Cambridge and London. Rutland Water, with its water sports, RSPB reserve and leisure opportunities, along with the county town, Oakham, are 14 miles to the west.
