Green Ridge is located in Argos Hill, approximately 1.4 miles from the historic village of Mayfield, with its thriving community and local amenities including a convenience store with post office, chemist, dentist, doctors’ surgery, as well as a number of pubs and cafes. Nearly Royal Tunbridge Wells offers entertainment and shopping attractions and there is a good choice of supermarkets in Heathfield, and Crowborough.

Royal Tunbridge Wells (approximately 8 miles) is a historic spa town located about thirty miles south of London, surrounded by countryside and offering a popular base for commuters. The town offers excellent cultural, leisure and shopping attractions including cafés, restaurants and two theatres. The High Street offers many restaurants including The Ivy and The Warren, and so many choices for delicious cakes, fresh bread and coffee, Juliet's, Fine Grind, Gails and the Italian delicatessen Arte Bianca, with fresh fish and seafood at Sankey's fishmongers and so much more, with numerous shops and independent boutiques.

Further schools in the area include Skippers Hill Preparatory School in Five Ashes, and Vinehall in Robertsbridge. Wadhurst, Crowborough and Heathfield have community colleges. There are public schools in Tonbridge and Eastbourne and grammar schools in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.

Mainline rail: Crowborough (at Jarvis Brook, 3.3 miles), has services to London Bridge. Wadhurst (7 miles) and Tunbridge Wells (7.6 miles) have services to London Charing Cross (via London Bridge and Waterloo East) and Cannon Street (Tunbridge Wells to Charing Cross).

Communications: The A21 is accessible via Tunbridge Wells, providing a direct link to the M25 and thereby to the national motorway network, Gatwick and Heathrow airports and the Channel Tunnel terminus.
