Thorpeness is an enchanting, principally Georgian holiday village on the east coast of Suffolk and within the Suffolk Coats and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The idyllic, fairy tale holiday village is set around a boating lake known as The Meare; also within the village is a country club, golf club, a popular public house and cafés.

Neighbouring Aldeburgh offers a greater array of amenities including independent shops, galleries, superb restaurants, cafés and public houses.

Snape Maltings is home to the internationally renowned concert hall, with various concerts and cultural events throughout the year.

Historic market towns, Saxmundham, Framlingham and Woodbridge provide a comprehensive range of amenities, including Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets in Saxmundham.

For the commuter, The Courthouse benefits from easy access to the A12; there are branch line railway stations in Saxmundham (to London Liverpool Street from 115 minutes) and Woodbridge (from 92 minutes). Ipswich offers direct trains from 68 minutes.
