In a place to the south of the island is the town of Es Migjorn Gran, previously called San Cristóbal.It originated around the year 1769 through the efforts of a group of men from Ferreries led by Cristóbal Barber, from whom the original hermitage took its name around which the peaceful little village formed.There was born and practiced his profession as a doctor D.
