STATE AND FINISHES
The living room on the ground floor was built in the former stables and the typical old through has been preserved. The flooring throughout the house are made of chestnut boards held together by black resin.
The conservative restoration was carried out with the idea of preserving the original building, highlighting its historically-more-relevant features (stone walls, chestnut wooden beams, terracotta tiles and vaulted ceilings). These traditional materials are coupled with many modern details made out of crystal, steel and iron which connect present and past.


EXTERIOR
The land surrounding the villa (8,400 sqm - 2.1 ac) is rich of plants typical of the area such as strawberries, cypresses, holm oaks and productive olive trees. The Eucalypts one can see were planted in the Fascist Era (1922 – 1944) when it was found out that these trees could entrap water, thus preventing the formation of unhealthy swamps where the Anopheles mosquito could reproduce (this was the main vector of malaria in Maremma before the land were reclaimed).
The pool was built on the slope of the hill facing the sea. Very much lake-looking, the basin is made out of quartz sand and resin which, by extending on the slope simulate a small sandy beach. Right next to the pool there is a relax area with sun beds and deck chairs.


USE AND POTENTIAL USES
