Tudor Cottage is situated in the parish of Wistanstow, near the quiet market town of Craven Arms on the Welsh Marches railway line, with links to the north and south. Craven arms railway station is around 1.5 miles away and takes approximately 10 minutes to Ludlow and 25 minutes to Shrewsbury.

The local village of Wistanstow has a thriving village shop, a primary school, church and a distinctive black and white village hall. The town of Craven Arms offers amenities such as supermarkets, restaurant, public houses, post office and an excellent butchers.

The picturesque town of Church Stretton is about 5 miles away, with footpaths, hiking or cycling routes throughout the Shropshire Hills. There are various activities surrounding Tudor Cottage including Carding Mill Valley, the Long Mynd, near Church Stretton, with stunning rural surroundings.

There is a bus route which comes past the house, and there is also access to the A49; Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Hereford and Gloucester. There also numerous footpaths nearby, with access to woodlands and bridleways.

There are nearby towns of Bishops Castle, Clun, Church Stretton and Ludlow. These all hold a range of amenities and history. Ludlow also has a train station which is around 10.3 miles away from Tudor Cottage, that takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes to Crewe and around 57 minutes to Telford Central.

There are many well regarded schools nearby in both the independent and state sector, including Shrewsbury School around 18 miles away, Wistanstow CofE Primary School around 0.5 miles away and Moor Park, about 10 miles.

Description

Tudor Cottage is situated in its own plot, with a gravel driveway, near the friendly village of Wistanstow and the market town of Craven Arms. It was once three cottages, and the current owners have combined them into one home.

On entrance into a well lit porch and through the oak floored hallway, is the open kitchen/dining space, which is perfect for family living and entertaining.

The bespoke kitchen has an integrated dishwasher, microwave and fridge. A kitchen island with granite worktops is connected to a stunning brick wall feature, showing the character of the property, along with exposed beams all over the house. There is also a rangemaster oven and gas hob. This open plan living space has a breakfast area and snug, with a Clearview multi fuel wood burner.

There are French doors out to the patio, garden and a number of outbuildings. There is a storage cupboard, and a boot room off the kitchen with further storage. The ground floor family bathroom has a bath, shower, and towel rail.

Stairs rise to the secondary wing of Tudor Cottage. The first bedroom is a spacious double bedroom with an arch leading into a dressing room with ample built in storage. There is a separate WC.

Next is a step up to bedroom two, which has views of the extensive garden and a storage cupboard with plumbing for a shower, as a potential en suite. The last room in this part of the house is another double bedroom with views out the front. All windows are double glazed.

Moving back through to the entrance hall, to the left is the formal dining room with a stunning brick fireplace. Across from here is the front conservatory, which is filled with natural light and has views over the fields and beyond. There is also an external door leading out to the front drive.

The dining room leads into the sitting room which has a Chesneys log burning stove, more storage, and deep window sills. From here, leading into a utility room which could be used as another boot/dog room. Along with a boiler room with a door leading outside.

Stairs lead from the sitting room to the primary wing. The first double bedroom has built in storage and is currently used as an office.

This room is at the back of bedroom three in the secondary wing, and has potential to convert into a Jack and Jill bathroom.

There are views of Wenlock Edge, and numerous footpaths with extensive access to woodlands and bridleways. There is also a spacious summer house, which is currently used a a gym, with a home office and storage. There is a ladder, leading up to a loft area. This could be a social space for teenagers to use.

A large double garage/workshop sits at the end of the garden with ample parking, as well as gates to a secondary entrance to the property.
