5 Figart is located beside the New Lake which is a 230 acre lake created an Atlantic storm in 1920 and is now renowned as one of the premier brown trout fisheries in the county.

Marble Hill Strand (7.5 km) is one of the most beautiful settings in Donegal and its blue flag sandy beach is popular amongst swimmers, surfers, bathers and walkers. An abundance of sporting and leisure facilities are available close by, including Jaws watersports which offers a local surf school in Dunfanaghy.

Local areas of interest include Ards Forest Park (7.5 km), a 1200-acre park with wonderful trails, the 4-star Shandon Hotel and Spa (8 km) and also Glenveagh National Park (22 km) which is a hillwalker's paradise with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls and woodland.

For golfing enthusiasts, Dunfanaghy Golf Club (2 km) offers one of the finest links courses in Donegal, while Rosapenna Golf Resort in Downings (25 km) has two championship links courses - Sandy Hills and Old Tom Morris and a third course, St Patrick's Links by Tom Doak.

Local schooling is available at Faugher National School, Holy Trinity National School, Ballymore National School. Secondary school options are available in both Letterkenny and Milford.

Donegal Airport is 40 km distant while the town of Dunfanaghy is well served by transport links connecting it to Letterkenny, Galway, Dublin, Derry/Londonderry and Belfast. Daily ferry services are also available from Magheroarty Pier to Tory Island.
