Location

Horsemoor Cottage lies on a Green Lane on the edge of the village.
The village of Chieveley has a post office/stores, primary school, church, pub, doctor’s surgery and village hall with adjoining recreation ground and tennis courts.

Nearby Newbury has extensive and comprehensive shopping, leisure and sporting facilities as well as a mainline station (Paddington about 50 minutes).

The area has a wide selection of schools, both primary and secondary, private and state. Communications are excellent by road via the A34 and M4 and by rail via Newbury or Didcot (both Paddington).

Description

Horesemoor Cottage dates back to the 17th Century with later additions and retains many of its original character features.
The drawing room overlooks the gardens and has a large inglenook fireplace with wood burner at its heart. The kitchen is well appointed and has a range of wall and base units and sits alongside the breakfast room which in turn leads to the conservatory with French doors to the gardens.
There are two further reception rooms on the ground floor which can be used for a dining room and informal snug.
On the first floor there are four double bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Outside
Set in just over two acres of land the gardens are a real asset to the house. Fully enclosed by mature hedgerows there are open lawns peppered with mature shrubs and trees, a dedicated vegetable garden, woodland and of course the outdoor swimming pool.

Directions

In Chieveley and passing the pub on the left hand side take the next left in School road and then immediately turn left onto the track. Passing Horsemoor House continue down this tract and turn left to find Horsemoor cottage on the right.
