Location

The Woodchesters – North and South – are situated to the west of the A46, in the valley of the Nailsworth Stream between Stroud and Nailsworth, with Minchinhampton to the west. There a number of local amenities including two pubs, a community-run general store and Post Office, a village hall and parish church. Close by is 18th/19th century Woodchester Park which was acquired by the National Trust to protect this delightful park through which threads a chain of five lakes, and there is further excellent walking on Minchinhampton and Rodborough commons.

More extensive shopping and services can be found in the lovely Cotswolds town of Stroud, which has superstore shopping, independent boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and Nailsworth which has independent shops, restaurants and cafes.

Archway School is about half a mile distant and there are a variety of primary schools locally. There is an extensive choice of private schools in the area including Beaudesert Park at Minchinhampton, Rendcomb College, Westonbirt, Cheltenham College and Cheltenham Ladies College. Top ranking Pate's Grammar School in Cheltenham is also very convenient.

There is easy access to the A419, linking with Junction 13 of the M5 north of Gloucester and Junction 17 of the M4 at Chippenham. Direct rail services to London Paddington from Stroud Station (about three miles) are scheduled to take 90 minutes.
