Hollygrove Cottage enjoys a delightfully quiet location in this sought after small village set amidst the glorious countryside of the Cranborne Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Long Crichel is conveniently situated about nine miles from the popular Minster town of Wimborne, offering excellent amenities including a branch of Waitrose, cafes, restaurants and bars, and the Tivoli theatre/ cinema.

The Georgian market town of Blandford with further amenities including an M&S Food store is about seven miles.

The area is well served with schools including renowned independent Canford, Dumpton, Bryanston, Clayesmore, and state schools in both Wimborne and Blandford.

The coast and beaches at Bournemouth and Poole together with water sports at Poole Harbour are about 20 miles and the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast starts at Studland Bay beyond Wareham.

The New Forest National Park, for excellent walking, cycling and riding is east of Ringwood.

The A31, leading on to the M27 and M3 to London can be joined at Ringwood, and trains to London Waterloo run from Bournemouth, Salisbury, and Southampton Parkway stations.

Description

The cottage, which is not listed, has been the subject of complete modernisation and refurbishment in recent years and is presented in good decorative order. Works carried out include a new fitted kitchen, new bathroom and shower room fittings, replacement double glazed windows and oil fired central heating. Many rooms in the cottage enjoy delightful open views across nearby fields.

A brick porch and front door open into the reception hall/ dining room, with fitted cupboard and window overlooking the garden. The sitting room has a fireplace with log burner and French doors to the garden. The kitchen/ breakfast room is fitted with a range of units in an attractive green/ grey colour, and includes a ceramic hob, extractor hood over and double oven, and has a window seat and space for a table and chairs. The utility/ boot room has plumbing and space for washing machine and dryer, a shelved larder, door to outside, and a cloakroom with basin and WC.

It is mainly lawned with hedges, shrubs and trees surrounding, a sunny paved terrace perfect for outdoor entertaining, and adjoins open fields at the side and rear.

Directions

From Blandford Forum - take the A354 Salisbury road and after about six miles turn right, signposted to Long Crichel. Follow this road into the village and after passing the church on the left, where the road does a sharp right turn, take the left fork. Follow this road around the corner and Hollygrove Cottage is the first drive on the right.

From Wimborne Minster - take the B3078 Cranborne Road northwards. After about six miles, at the Horton Inn, take the left turn signposted to Shaftesbury and Blandford. Follow this road for about two miles, as it winds over a bridge and up a single carriageway stretch of road, then turning left signposted to Long Crichel. Proceed down the hill and turn left at the junction. After passing the church on the left, where the road does a sharp right turn, take the left fork. Follow this road around the corner and Hollygrove Cottage is the first driveway on the right.
