Location

Wass is a pretty village with a popular pub within The North York Moors National Park.

Ampleforth village is two miles to the east and has good local facilities including a village shop with post office counter, two pubs and two primary schools. Ampleforth College is three miles away.

Being in The National Park and on the edge of the Howardian Hills Area of National Outstanding Beauty, Virginia Lodge is well located for those with a love of the “great outdoors”.

Helmsley, a popular market town is only six and a half miles away and has excellent local shops, a weekly market, restaurants and hotels. It also has an art centre which has regular theatre performances and cinema showings.

York is 21 miles to the south and has excellent rail links as well as shopping and culture attractions including theatres and galleries.

Sitting at the top of the village, at the foot of Wass bank, Virginia Lodge is an outstanding stone built house set in around an acre of picturesque grounds. Originally two cottages dating back to the 18th century, the property has been much improved and extended by its current owner and is now presented in excellent condition with an abundance of character.

The layout is well balanced and extremely flexible, with the ground floor accommodation designed for family living and entertaining.
