Location
Small corner of the green with lavender bushes, box hedges with an intense green and then trees that are ever taller and thicker to form a wood; an open territory, very large and from where is possible to see small group of farmhouses, close to each other, all in stone and scent of lavender. This is the scenario in which this farmhouse is immersed, not far from major services and also from large cities such as Florence and Siena.
Description
The main nucleus of this farmhouse dates back to 1200, as an ancient watchtower that marked the border between the territory of Fiorenza and that of Siena, as a post station where the horses of the wayfarers and messengers were changed and where they could refresh and have a meal.
Around this ancient tower which is still clearly visible, have been made some additions in subsequent periods what has given the current appearance to the farmhouse. Currently there are two main buildings close to each other and a barn slightly detached from them, in the middle the swimming pool surrounded by the solarium and the flat part of the land. Behind the buildings there is the wood, to protect and shelter this little jewel of the Chianti countryside.
The main farmhouse is divided into 7 apartments for a total of about 30 sleeping places. Each apartment has one or two bedrooms and is equipped with its own bathroom and kitchen, as well as a private outdoor space to enjoy the Tuscan nature in complete tranquility. On the ground floor of this building there is the "vat" characterized by the typical vaulted ceiling finished in bricks. Adjacent to the main building but slightly detached from it, another smaller building characterized by a large covered loggia where it’ s possible to spend afternoons and evenings in company, where there are various covered technical spaces. The third building, which was once the barn, appears to be detached from the other buildings, has a large loggia in front and is on two levels, a large room used as a living area on the main level with the roof supported by wooden trusses, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the other level, completing the sleeping area.
Outdoor spaces
The farmhouse is immersed in about 20 hectares of private land, of which a good part is in the woods. The part of the land closest to the buildings is flat and is suitable for use as a land for cultivation or to create a football or tennis court for guests. In the area sheltered from the buildings, in order to guarantee privacy, there is the rectangular swimming pool which measures 12 x 6 meters surrounded by the solarium covered with imperial quartzite which offers the advantage of never becoming too hot, even on the hottest days.
The part of land closest to the house of about 5,000 square meters is surrounded by an electrified fence that guarantees greater safety. The paths surrounding the house allow for excursions and walks in the woods and in the surrounding countryside.
State and finishes
The renovation of the rooms, even it was done some time ago, is still very current. The typical style of the countryside has been fully respected, from the original materials that have been recovered to the subdivision of the interior spaces. The attention to details that can be appreciated inside the property is also clearly visible in the outdoor spaces, in fact, aerial cables are not visible in order to give the least possible visual impact. The technical spaces, although present, are well hidden from view by strategic bushes of plants.
