Location

The pretty hamlet of Darlingscott is situated close to the northern edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to the borders of South Warwickshire and the North Cotswolds. Ilmington, just two miles distant, boasts a community village shop and cafe, primary school, church, a large recreational ground, tennis courts and two village inns including The Howard Arms noted for its cuisine.

Darlingscott is within easy access of the historical market towns of Chipping Campden and Shipston-on-Stour, both of which featured in a recent Sunday Times’ list of Top Towns to Live In and offer a wide range of everyday shops and amenities. The larger centres of Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford are all within an hour’s drive and offer a more extensive choice of shopping and cultural facilities and an excellent choice of state, private and grammar schools.

There are regular train services to Paddington from Moreton-in-Marsh which is only 8 miles away or Marylebone from Banbury or Warwick. The motorway network is easily accessible via the M40 J15 (16 miles). The surrounding countryside offers a variety of walking and riding opportunities. There are important gardens which are open to the public nearby including Hidcote Manor Gardens. There are theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford. In particular Stratford-upon-Avon offers the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. Golf courses at Brailes, Tadmarton and Stratford-upon-Avon together with National Hunt Racing at Warwick, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Camperdown Farm Cottage is a charming Grade II listed property which dates back to 1630 with later additions and is constructed of Cotswold stone with a limestone ashlar front elevation. Directions

Heading in a northerly direction on the A429 take the left hand turn signposted ‘Darlingscott and Ilmington’. Proceed for about one mile and turn left at the T-junction. Camperdown Farm Cottage can be found on the right hand side after a short distance. Access to the driveway and parking is just before you reach the cottage to the right.
