The village of Great Gonerby has a thriving community with a popular pub, church, primary school and a memorial hall. The village is situated approximately 2.5 miles from Grantham, with a range of local services in the surrounding villages. Grantham offers two excellent grammar schools and a range of high-quality primary and prep schools. There is excellent off-road hacking around the area and good walking upon the rolling limestone uplands of South Lincolnshire.

Lincoln is 23.4 miles away and also offers a full range of amenities including shops, leisure facilities, the quaintly historic Cathedral Quarter, universities and the county hospital. The well-respected Minster and St Mary's private schools are also situated in Lincoln. Grantham has high-speed train services to London and Leeds in just over an hour.
