The cottage is situated almost equidistant between Lehteringham, Hoo and Easton in one of the most desirable parts of Suffolk. On a quiet lane, overlooking undulating fields and the rarely used 13th century parish church.

Easton (1 mile) is a pretty village with a popular public house, The White Horse and a delightful medieval church. Nearby Wickham Market (3.5 miles) is a much larger village with a range of independent shops, cafés, restaurant and a coop supermarket.

Framlingham (4.5 miles) is a most beautiful market town with an iconic 12th century castle, restaurants, public houses, independent shops, cafés, delicatessen, Co-op supermarket, Barclays bank and petrol stations.

Woodbridge (8.5 miles) is a thriving riverside town, with a greater range of amenities, including an independent cinema and a railway station offer trains to London Liverpool Street via Ipswich from 92 minutes.

The stunning Suffolk coast comprises delightful seaside towns and pretty villages. Aldeburgh (15 miles), the popular coastal town closely associated with Benjamin Britten, is famed for its fish and chips and Maggi Hambling 'Scallop' sculpture. The neighbouring village of Thorpeness has a charming boating lake and country club. Orford (12.5 miles) has an enchanting 12th century castle and is home to the award winning Pump Street Bakery.

There are a number of well-regarded golf clubs locally, including those at Woodbridge, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness; sailing is available in Woodbridge and along the Suffolk coast; Framlingham College provides swimming and gym facilities to the public.

Schools locally are excellent in both the state and independent sectors including Thomas Mills High School, Framlingham College, Woodbridge School and Orwell Park Prep School.

Description

Occupying a wonderful rural position, surrounded by undulating fields, 2 Abbey Cottages is an attractive, three-bedroom period house.

Internally, the accommodation flows very well and comprises well-proportioned and light-filled rooms.

The front door opens into the entrance hall, which leads through to the sitting room, which in turn flows through to the kitchen/dining room. Completing the ground floor is the bathroom.

The first floor consists of three bedrooms, which all have superb views of the surrounding countryside.
