Prestigious Medicean villa immersed in the green of the typical Tuscan hills, in the municipality of Scarperia.
The first construction dates back to 1400, built on the foundations of an ancient Ubaldina tower dating back to the 17th century, still present; it was Lorenzo and Giovanni de 'Medici, sons of Pier Francesco di Lorenzo de' Medici, who commissioned the construction of the villa. In the eighteenth century it was renovated preserving the characteristics of the oldest original plant, while the recent restructuring was carried out by the current owners.
A suggestive tree-lined avenue leads to the suggestive loggia and then to the halls connected to each other by round arches and enriched by frescoes and coffered ceilings. The first hall is called "Salone dei Medici" and you can admire the imposing fireplace in stone from the fourteenth century which bears the coat of arms of the famous Florentine family. The second room is called Michelangelo for its frescoes restored according to the traditions of the artist's school. The third and last hall bears the name of one of the most important glass artisans of the nineteenth century, Galileo Chini, whose work we can admire here.
As a whole, the property is divided into four internally connected units, while presenting itself as a single property.
Currently used as a bed & breakfast and location for elegant ceremonies, the villa is equipped with a professional kitchen and various accessory rooms.
The upper floor of the main building consists of five suites of various sizes (from 35 to 80 square meters) all with private bathroom with tub or hydromassage shower. The other units are now used as a private residence, but can be easily used for the hospitality business, being internally connected.
The villa is surrounded by a beautiful park on which lies the swimming pool designed by the famous architect Porcinai, with a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. In the park it is possible to admire two sequoias and a still consecrated chapel dated 1729. The lands belonging to the property have a surface of approx five hectares.
