The historic Bank of Montreal building was designed by British Columbia's famous architect, Francis M. Rattenbury, and constructed during 1898/99. This architectural gem is arguably Rossland's most prominent building, being situated on a central comer and having a foundation made from locally quarried granite beneath brick walls that reflect the strength and elegance of the structure. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style, it stands as a testament to timeless craftsmanship. The building has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades, while preserving its historical value and appeal. Built as a three-stories multi-use building, today it provides 15 leasable spaces, primarily as professional offices, contains a functional basement and four original bank vaults. Located just five minutes from Canada's internationally recognized Red Mountain ski resort, this building captures the essence of Rossland's roots while participating in the town's promising future.
