Location

2 Oyster Meadow is located on the eastern edge of Dereham, a market town in the centre of Norfolk, therefore conveniently placed for most of the highlights of Norfolk. The town has a twice weekly market, a range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, education from nursery through to secondary, plenty of leisure and community clubs and of course the network of footpaths to enjoy across Neatherd Moors, accessed from the house without need to walk along or over roads.

The surrounding areas of Dereham provide a diverse mix of attractions from Gressenhall Workhouse museum, to golf courses, to heritage rail line. Country pubs, such as the excellent Brisley Bell, is only about six miles from the town, alongside a selection of farm shops.

There is a direct road from the town to Norwich, the cathedral city, with a bus route located nearby to the house. The city has thriving retail, educational and cultural sectors, alongside a plethora of independent restaurants, cafes, sports facilities not to mention the outstanding architecture and 31 churches.

The North Norfolk coast is about 23 miles, with wide sandy beaches, a network of coastal paths, renowned bird watching and sailing.

This is a great example of how successful bespoke small scale developments can be within a town environment. Built in 2017, as part of a collection of three other houses of the same quality, as soon as you draw into Oyster Meadow you can immediately sense that this is a little oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Norfolk market town living. This is further enhanced by the particular position of No.2. Nestled in the far corner of Oyster Meadow, backing directly onto Neatherd Moor, it provides a sense of peace and privacy.

The house is spacious, with plenty of natural light. The current custodians acquired the house from new, and set about opening up the main living rooms resulting in a wonderful open plan kitchen/living/dining area, and into the garden room. Much like the house, great care and thought has been given to the gardens to create space to enjoy and relax in. At the front of the house, on arrival, you are greeted by lawned areas with yew topiary, and beds of shrubs and hydrangeas, alongside brick weave parking areas in front of the garaging, and to one side. Brick weave paths link the parking to the house.

The formal gardens wrap round the house from the west to the north. A large patio is perfectly placed for south to west sun, accessed directly from the main living space of the house, so ideal for outside dining and entertaining. Paths lead round the house to further circular paved areas framed by lawns, used as seating areas to take in the wide open sunsets, with further paving around the house. The lawns are bordered by mixed hedging, and beds of shrubs and flowers and a fine Walnut tree. A pergola leads on to an enclosed area, with a green house that is not included within the sale.
