Location

Clifton Hampden is a popular and well connected village to the south of Oxford. It has a village Shop, an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary School, a church and the famous ‘Barley Mow’ Pub, which is mentioned in Jerome K Jerome’s book '3 men in a boat’. Courtiers is situated in a prime position on the northern end of Watery Lane, a no through road just off the A415 in the heart of the village. Culham Science Centre is a mile away, where there is also a branch line Railway Station with trains to Didcot which connect directly to London.

There is an excellent choice of schools locally both state and independent including Radley College in nearby Abingdon and the highly acclaimed European School just over a mile away from the property.

Built as part of the Gibbs estate in the early 18th century, Courtiers is an impressive and historic village house which has been in the same family for more than 52 years. The classical Georgian facade has an immediate sense of grandeur, yet offers manageable proportions for the modern family.
Full of character, the Grade II listed house features high ceilings and many original details including wood panelling, window seats and an oak staircase. Many of the rooms are double or triple aspect with views over the generous gardens.
