Valdengo Castle is located 20 minutes from the Carisio exit on the A4 motorway. It is one hour from Milan, Turin, and Malpensa international airport and two hours from France and Switzerland. The Castle stands on a gentle hill from which you can enjoy a 360-degree view, from the Biella alps to Monviso, from Baraggia to the hills and plains of the Novara area and the village of Valdengo in the foreground.
The building, whose first layout dates back to the Middle Ages, is located in a well-restored hamlet.
Today the castle is only partially inhabited on the ground floor. The remaining part, whose frescoed ceilings have remained unchanged over the centuries, is dedicated to halls and lounges with fireplaces and furnishings that enhance their historical nature.
In the inhabited part, there is the oldest fireplace that frames an elegant room, a living room, and a dining room, with direct access to the large terrace of 360 square meters, and the kitchen complete the floor.
The monumental staircase leads to the first floor entirely dedicated to the bedrooms. Also on this floor, the architectural elements are of great value. Some rooms in fact have frescoed ceilings and perfectly preserved parquet floors. In addition, all rooms facing the southwest side have French windows onto a long balcony that delineates the entire floor.
The second floor, with a reduced layout and access to the turret by a comfortable staircase, housed some rooms and services.
Overall, the Castle needs an integral intervention. Although in fact some rooms preserve the historical beauty and the traces of their noble origins, the systems, fixtures, and bathrooms must be modernized. The roof and some attics must be entirely redone.
The area lends itself to be appreciated by sports lovers thanks to the numerous possibilities that the area offers (about 30 minutes away is the golf of Magnano Biellese, the Betulle, among the most beautiful in Italy, the tennis clubs of Rosazza and the Beeches of Biella, the Biellese Alps for skiing, but also the renowned areas of the Val d'Aosta. Lake Viverone for water skiing and wakeboarding, as well as walks in the Burcina or Zegna oasis, cycling, and mtb at la Serra and surroundings). Even food and wine lovers can try the wines of the rapidly growing area and the numerous local specialties.
