The Windy City of Chicago sits at the south of Lake Michigan and is the third largest city in the US.
It was home to the first skyscraper and has been synonymous with the structures ever since – with four of the eight tallest buildings in America all found here including the Willis Tower, which held the crown of the biggest building in the world for more than 20 years. As well as its skyscrapers it is, of course, famed for its delicious deep dish pizzas.
Its thriving financial and business sector sits side-by-side with the leisure and tourist attractions of the Navy Pier and 20-plus beaches and the city, the biggest in the state of Illinois, has a strong sporting pedigree through its successful basketball, American Football, baseball and hockey teams.
Those after luxury living in this most endearing of cities should look no further than a small section of the Lincoln Park area. The 1800 and 1900 blocks of North Burling, Orchard, and Howe Streets offer a compact collection of top class properties that make this the place to buy.
The Hyde Park area in the south counts President Barack Obama as one of its residents while Oprah Winfrey, whose show was filmed in Chicago for more than 20 years, lived in the Gold Coast/Old Town area which runs east-west from LaSalle Avenue to Lake Michigan and north-south from Chicago Avenue and North Avenue.
