Canwick is a large village situated just south of the city of Lincoln, about 1.7 miles from the city centre. The village has a village hall and recreation ground, the acclaimed International Bomber Command Centre is approx. 0.5 miles away, with extensive shopping, leisure facilities and a station found in Lincoln, as well as the historic Cathedral Quarter, universities and the County Hospital. There is good walking on the South Common between Canwick and the city. Well-respected schools include Minster and St Mary's private schools, Priory Pembroke Academy and The Priory Academy LSST.

Lincoln train station is 1.4 miles north and has a direct train to London (Kings Cross from 120 minutes). The A1 trunk road is accessed at Newark, approximately 15 miles away.
