34 Argyle Street is in the terrace of houses immediately opposite the Westport. The Westport is the arched gateway into St Andrews which was built in 1587 as a monumental entrance to the city's South Street. It is well placed for access to the University and the town centre with all of its restaurants, shops and bars.

The Cockshaugh Park is 200 metres beyond and gives access to the Lade Braes footpath which runs from the centre of town out into the countryside. The house is also within half a mile of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, the world-famous Old Course and the West Sands beach.

There are now seven golf courses under the management of the St Andrews Links Trust, including the world-famous Old Course which will next play host to The Open Championship in 2027. There are many other golf courses nearby, including The Duke's Course, two courses at Fairmont St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Dumbarnie.   

St Andrews is well known for its university which is one of the oldest in Britain, founded in 1413. The historic town has an excellent range of independent stores, hotels, restaurants and cultural facilities which include a cinema and the Byre Theatre. Leuchars railway station is on the main Aberdeen to London line and provides a link to Edinburgh with a sleeper service to London. Dundee Airport offers flights to London Heathrow, and Edinburgh Airport is only 50 miles away.

34 Argyle Street is a Category C Listed stone-built house which dates from around 1759. It has been extended to the rear in the past and the downstairs bedroom was used as an office historically. The present owners bought the property in 2014 and carried out a full refurbishment at that time.
