Green Cross Cottage enjoys an idyllic location, surrounded by countryside on the edge of the popular village of Churt. The village has a pubic house, local shops, Church and infant school. The nearby villages of Frensham and Tilford offer further amenities.

The Georgian market town of Farnham offers a comprehensive selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, with a number of restaurants on the picturesque Castle St and Lion and Lamb Yard, and a Waitrose and Sainsbury's within the town. Sporting facilities include Farnham Leisure Centre and David Lloyd gym/tennis centre. The new Brightwells Yard development includes Reel Cinema and Farnham Maltings offers theatre, film, craft and music events. Farnham also plays host to various markets and events throughout the year. The country town of Guildford lies about 14 miles to the east for a wider range of shopping and leisure facilities.

The mainline stations in Haslemere and in Farnham, both about six miles away, prove regular direct train services to London Waterloo within an hour's journey.

The A31, M3 and A3 provide fast access to the M25 and national motorway network as well as Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton airports.

There are a number of schools in the area including St John's C of E Infant School in Churt, Waverley Abbey C of E Junior and Weydon Secondary. Independent schools include Edgeborough, Frensham Heights and More House in Frensham, Barfield in Runfold and Lord Wandsworth College in Long Sutton.

The surrounding area offers some wonderful walking, cycling and riding opportunities, accessed from the house along footpaths and bridleways, including nearby Alice Holt Forest, Frensham and Hankley Commons and Frensham Little and Great Ponds.
