South of Leksand, nestled in the River valley, lie some of the region's oldest cluster villages. Perched beautifully on the slopes facing the river as it meanders towards Insjön, these villages offer magnificent views of the rolling agricultural landscape.

It was the captivating scenery and rich cultural heritage of Ullvi that drew artist Emerik Stenberg to build his National Romantic home here in 1902. The house, with its red log-timbered facade and charming veranda, blends seamlessly with its surroundings, yet stands out due to its size and architectural character.

The original layout of the house is well-preserved, featuring beautiful period wooden floors, wall paneling, tiled stoves, fireplaces, and hearths in nearly every room. The ground floor includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, hall, utility room, gym with shower, and guest toilet. Stenberg's old studio, located to the north for optimal shadow-free light, boasts large glass windows and an open ceiling with a balcony overlooking the room from the upper floor. Adjacent to the studio is the so-called \"old cottage,\" once used to recreate historic interiors, now serving as a library. The upper floor includes a spacious hall, a living room with stunning views, two bedrooms and two former maid's quarters, and a bathroom.

Situated on the hillside, the property is private and secluded. The grounds include a guest cottage—a log-timbered house with two bedrooms and a bathroom—as well as a garage, an old stable, root cellar, brewhouse, and other culturally significant buildings. The property also includes shares in communal land and roads in Ullvi village, along with fishing rights in the Dalälven River.
