Location

Ardentinny is a small village located on the western shore of Loch Long on the Cowal Peninsula. Known for its stunning natural beauty, the area offers a peaceful retreat with its scenic landscapes, forested hills and access to nearby Argyll Forest Park. The village is about 12 miles north of Dunoon, a ferry-port town, with regular ferry services to Gourock. Dunoon is a very popular tourist destination with a wide range of shopping and services including restaurants and leisure facilities. There are a number of golf courses in the region including Innellan, Dunoon and Strone.

Description

Sligrachan is a traditional stone-built farmhouse situated in a wonderfully secluded and scenic location, nestled at the bottom of a wooded glen with 30 acres of land.

The property is arranged over two floors and has a welcoming farmhouse feel, beginning with the cosy, well-equipped dining kitchen offering a range of floor and wall mounted cabinetry and ample work surfaces, as well as space for a dining table and a warming scarlet AGA at its heart. The spacious utility room is positioned off, with outdoor access and stairway leading up to an additional attic room. To the front of the house is the living room with wood burning stove. Sligrachan has a large detached stone built barn with various stores and workshop integrated within. A small orchard, two fenced yards and stone sheep fanks (pens) offer an ideal setup for a hobby farm or for further development. A small shed with electricity could work as a home office or for further storage.

Sligrachan is set amidst extensive grounds made up of woodland and grassland spanning approximately 30 acres. Of particular note is the stream which meanders through its grounds, as well as the historic stone ruin at the boundary.
