Windhill is situated just 0.6 miles from the mainline railway station of Bishop's Stortford.

The town provides excellent shopping and sporting facilities and schooling for all ages in both the private and state sectors. Of particular note in this regard are Bishops Stortford College and Hockerill Anglo European School.

There are good transport links by road via the A10 and M11 and mainline railway connections to London Liverpool Street Station and Cambridge.

In addition international travel can be accessed via Stansted and Luton Airports.
