The house has been designed as an origami game, in which a sheet of paper folds and cuts to shape the entire space of the home. The house seeks to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces through large, floor-to-ceiling glass panels and the use of vegetation that weaves between the various spaces. The volume contains three courtyard-like crevices filled with lush vegetation that bring nature inside the house.The limits of the house are defined by glazed surfaces and textured black-dyed concrete elements. The rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, are designed with unique, individual spaces, giving each its own character. A distinctive feature is that the sink, bathtub, and shower are arranged as standalone pieces, freely placed in the space, allowing users to enjoy views of the house from each of these points.LOCAL AND NATURAL MATERIALSThe material palette has been carefully selected to establish links and relationships with the location and the architectural traditions of the island. This includes flexible lime stucco finishes, microcement, cement mixed with "marés" sandstone and river stones, sandstone (marés), and wood—all characteristic of traditional Mallorcan constructions. Additionally, native plants, soil, gravel, and water interact with elements of the natural landscape.SENSORY EXPERIENCEDespite the volumetric abstraction of the folded sheet that defines the spaces of the house, the home is designed to awaken all the senses. The granular feel of the sandstone under bare feet, the silky touch of flexible lime stucco, the reflections of pool water on the ceilings, the shimmering shadows of bamboo leaves bathing the common areas inside, the sound of the breeze, and, in the distance, the faint sound of the waves... all form part of an architectural experience that makes you feel immersed in nature.ds.
