Location

Strefford is a picturesque hamlet, with a wonderful community, nestled in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, below the well known Wenlock Edge an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, less than 3 miles north of the market town of Craven Arms and 6 miles south of Church Stretton.

Craven Arms and Church Stretton provide train services, local shops and secondary and primary schools. The picturesque town of Church Stretton has a selection of independent shops, delicatessens, restaurants, coffee shops and also it is home to the National Trust's Carding Mill Valley on the Long Mynd.

The county town of Shrewsbury is less than 20 miles to the north and offers a wide range of shops and leisure facilities together with access to the A5 dual carriageway linking to the M54.

Alternatively, to the south approximately 11 miles is Ludlow, famed for its fine gastronomic reputation, independent shops, interesting architecture and vibrant festivals.

The renowned Long Mynd golf course, second highest in England, is close by and the area presents many opportunities for hikers, horse riders or mountain bikers.

Description

The Oak House is a property designed and built in 1996 by award winning Border Oak; specialists in the design and construction of unique oak framed buildings. It is a bespoke design and a fine example of this style of property. The Oak House has extensive gravel parking area to the front which has ample space for a number of vehicles, along with a separate double garage. The gravel driveway continues around to the side of the house which becomes lawn with mature borders planted with shrubs.

The extensive lawn extends away from the back of the house within high hedged boundaries and mature trees. Within the grounds are two ancient pear trees, two ancient nut trees, Silver Birch, Horse Chestnut, Amelanchier, Rowan trees, a Copper Beech, Rhododendrons and Acer Drummondii. There is a separate stone log store and beyond the garden, closer to the courtyard is a summer house.
