Description

LAND
The land is nestled to the north of the village of Castleton and edged green on the sale plan. It is sheltered, productive grassland framed by scenic mature woodlands with frontage to the River Esk and road access. The grassland extends to 18.5 acres and includes a yard area, two field shelters and the remains of a tradtional barn and brick pump houses. Part is designated as a schedule monument, known as Castleton Castle Mound. It is currently used for sheep grazing and subject to a Farm Business Tenancy, although the land will be sold with vacant possession upon completion.

The land (edged blue on plan) is Grade 4 with soils from the Ellerbeck series, being slightly stoney but well drained. Lying at approximately 132 metres above sea level, the land is surrounded by the spectacular North York Moors landscape and slopes towards the picturesque River Esk, home to populations of Salmon and Sea trout.
