Swan Oast is located on the outskirts of the village of Staplehurst (3 miles) with shops catering for everyday needs including Sainsburys supermarket, post office, chemist and public house. Marden village (3.2 miles) also has a variety of shops catering for everyday needs. More comprehensive shopping can be found in Maidstone (5.8 miles) and Tunbridge Wells (15.3 miles). Bluewater shopping centre is located off the M25 junction 2 (A2/M2).

Mainline rail services to London Charing Cross and London bridge can be found at Staplehurst (3 miles) and Marden (3.2 miles) stations. Eurostar trains are available from Ashford International (22.8 miles). A high speed train service runs from Ashford to London St Pancras in about 37 minutes.

There are excellent schools in the area in both the state and private sectors at primary and secondary levels.

The M25 via the A21 can be accessed at J5 and the M20 via J8 both providing links to Gatwick and Heathrow airport and other motorway networks and channel tunnel terminus.

Description

Swan Oast is a unique twin oast house believed to date from the late 19th century with later additions. The current owners have made significant changes to the gardens and grounds, creating a magnificent Japanese style garden and as a result, it was part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS). Directions

From the Wilsley Pound roundabout between Cranbrook and Sissinghurst follow the A229 north into Staplehurst. Drive through the village and continue for about 3 miles, and the entrance to Swan Oast will be found on your left hand side.
