Coleby is a small and charming village surrounded by countryside between Lincoln and the market town of Sleaford. The village has a local pub, village hall, church and a primary school, while the nearby villages of Navenby, Welbourn and Wellingore provide a range of everyday amenities. Further facilities are available in Sleaford (approx. 12.7 miles) or Lincoln (approx. 8.2 miles), including a wide range of shops, supermarkets and leisure facilities. Primary schooling is available in the surrounding villages, while the nearest state secondary school is in Welbourn.

Transport connections include the A15, which provides access towards Lincoln and Sleaford, while the A1 is 14 miles away. Newark and Grantham mainline stations offer services to London Kings Cross (Grantham to London King Cross from approximately 65 minutes).
