Anne Hathaway lists New York Penthouse
March 13, 2020 - Manhattan
Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Schulman have put their Upper West Side penthouse on the market, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
Hathaway and Schulman purchased the floor-through penthouse for $2.55 million in early 2016, after selling their much larger loft in Dumbo’s Clocktower building.
They renovated the apartment, installed herringbone floors and raised the ceiling height. They are now asking $3.495 million.
The two-bedroom home is accessed directly by private elevator and has a large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area leading out to a large private terrace.
Listing images show the couple’s minimal style; there is a white marble-toned fireplace, a large television that transforms into a mirror when it is turned off and a blush-colored curved sofa. A bronze-colored wall ladder in the kitchen leads up to a skylight.
The building, which has historic Beaux-Arts elements on its facade, has just five apartments. From the lobby, a grand sweeping staircase connects the floors.
It is one of a group of houses built around 1904 by the Clark family, who also built the Dakota co-op building nearby, according to the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission.
